is Associate Professor of Orthopedics and trauma surgery and Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Spine Pathology and Surgery, at the University of  Insubria, in Varese, Italy. At present, he performs 250 surgeries per year. His main interests are in primary and revision hip and knee resurfacing, thoracic and lumbar spine surgery both open and percutaneous/minimally invasive (PVP, PBK, percLID, etc) for degenerative and trauma as well as general trauma surgery. He has worked extensively in the field of biologic response to polyethylene as well as wear modes, bone formation/stimulation with BMPs, NGF and trkA presence and activity in spine and arthritis, etc, and has published extensively in all fields of orthopedic surgery. He is investigator in numerous clinical studies and has been involved in the development of many novel surgical techniques and devices/patents. He published over 150 papers in international journals and presented as many relation to international congresses. He has been teaching at the orthopedic and trauma residency program, medical school, nurse school and physical therapist school of the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy since May 2001. He graduated in Milan, Italy in 1996 took a clinical and research fellowship in Joint resurfacing at RUSH University (Chicago, IL, USA) with dr. Galante in 1998 and had his specialist degree in orthopedic and trauma surgery at the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy in 2001. His Italian medical and specialty degrees were recognized by ECFMG. He is proficient in English (IELTS Academic 8 certified), French, Italian mother tongue and has scholastic Spanish and German as well.
